Nissan has announced the pricing for its newly redesigned 2016 Altima—an MSRP of $22,500. This will finally put a tag on the extensive remodeling of Nissan’s best-selling vehicle in North America, which was given an extensive makeover.

The new Altima will feature several improvements. On the outside, the vehicle has a refreshed design, fitting in with Nissan’s “Energetic Flow” design language, which has already influenced design decisions on the 2016 Maxima and 2015 Murano.

In addition, Nissan also added in an all-new SR trim level (to begin at $24,470), to offer an authentic sports model featuring 19-inch wheels, smoked headlights, paddle shifters, a rear spoiler, and specially-tuned suspension.

In fact, each Altima model has had its steering and suspension retuned, with the goal of increasing the car’s ride comfort and handling. Then, to enhance the feel of the engine, Nissan included the Xtronic transmission’s D-step logic, which simulates automatic transmission shift points (since the Xtronic is a continuously variable transmission, which otherwise wouldn’t have any shift points).

Other changes include a new center stack, Zero Gravity seats, and upgraded technology features such as NissanConnect.

Nissan is hoping that this redesign will help the Altima continue its streak of five years of sales growth and help boost the sedan’s popularity even more.
