All-new Nissan TITAN XD full-size pickup production begins at Canton

Nissan has officially begun production of its much-hyped, much-awarded full-size pickup truck, the TITAN XD. In a ceremony at the Canton, Mississippi assembly facility, Nissan executive vice president José Muñoz said, “It has been a long, hard journey getting to today and I want to express my appreciation to the entire TITAN XD team. And now, the real hard work begins right here on this production line – delivering the promise of innovation and excitement designed into the new TITAN to our customers.”

The Canton facility has long been a trusted Nissan plant, ever since its construction in 2003, and is now the workplace of 6,000 employees, who have produced more than 3 million vehicles to date, including the Altima, Armada, Frontier, NV Cargo Van, NV Passenger Van, and Murano (not to mention the soon-to-be TITAN XD).

This production is part of Nissan’s refreshed lineup, which includes the redesigned sedan trio (Maxima, Altima, and Sentra), and is led by increasing sales in the United States (mostly in sales of the Nissan Rogue and Murano SUVs).

“Nissan enters 2016 not only with a reinvigorated product lineup, but also with tremendous momentum in terms of sales and share gains,” said Muñoz. “And one of the key reasons for our success is our dedication to building the vehicles we sell in North America here in North America – with 85 percent sold here, built here.”
