2017 Nissan Titan XD Chicago Auto Show

When the 2016 Nissan Titan XD rolled off of the assembly lines late last year, some truck enthusiasts were worried that this new, bigger truck would overshadow the half-ton Nissan Titan. This smaller truck has many fans, and the smaller truck makes more sense in urban areas or for weekend warriors.

Well, Nissan Titan devotees can stop worrying. At the Chicago Auto Show, the latest generation of the Nissan Titan was revealed by Nissan executive Rich Miller standing in the bed of the new Nissan Titan during the “Nissan Coffee” timeslot.  The redesigned small truck has been given some serious upgrades. Of course, the most striking of these is a redesigned exterior that resembles the larger Titan XD. There is a lot more chrome on this vehicle than ever before, and the grille looks more like the same style of other truck competitors.

According to CNET, the Nissan will be available at first with a 5.6-liter, eight-cylinder engine that will achieve 390 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. Eventually, the truck will be available with a six-cylinder engine. Like the larger Nissan Titan XD, the 2017 Nissan Titan will be available in a variety of configurations when it comes to bed size, cabs, and trim level. The Titan will hopefully roll into dealerships this summer.

The News Wheel team in attendance also reports that the donuts and coffee provided by the Nissan team were also very tasty. We hope to receive more information about upcoming Nissan vehicles during its actual press conference tomorrow at 10:40am Chicago time.
