Carlos Ghosn

Carlos Ghosn is having a pretty great year. He oversaw Nissan’s acquisition of a large stake in Mitsubishi Motors, and he somehow managed to secure reassurances from the British government to allow Nissan to keep building cars in the UK. Besides that, he has become even more of a visionary leader than before, taking Nissan into the future of EVs and autonomous driving. Now a new announcement has put the proverbial icing on the cake.

When CES 2017 enters the world stage in early January, Carlos Ghosn will be on hand to present a keynote address to attendees. Several automakers will be present at the conference, but the speech will also be given to the leaders and brains behind some of the most cutting-edge technology on the planet. So no pressure, then.

It has been reported that Ghosn’s talk will focus on Nissan’s advanced autonomous driving technology, called Nissan Intelligent Mobility, and how it will continue to develop in the coming years. It has also been said that Ghosn will announce new developments and partnerships that will make the road to self-driving cars smoother and faster.

“I’m pleased that Nissan will be taking the CES stage at this moment of significant change and opportunity for the automotive sector,” said Ghosn. “Nissan has a history of developing breakthrough technologies that have transformed how cars are powered, driven, and integrated with wider society. We look forward to presenting our vision for how the technologies of today are the building blocks for a future with zero emission vehicles and zero fatalities on the road.”

We were already looking forward to CES 2017, but we can’t wait for this particular speaker to take the podium in Las Vegas.
