NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo Looks Like a Batmobile

NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo The cover has come off of the Nissan Vision Gran Turismo model at last, hinting at a future design and sparing us all the trouble of having to memorize a long name that features a bunch of confusing letter/number nomenclature and way more punctuation than necessary. The NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo is an astounding, track-killing supercar whose name suggests a bit more ambition than simply appearing in a video game.

Speaking of appearing in a video game, the NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo 2+2 supercar will be available for download in Gran Turismo®6 in July, joining a 148-strong lineup of models that have appeared in the PlayStation franchise.

While that’s all well and good, what’s particularly important here is that Nissan says the 2020 Vision GT is “a vision of what a high performance Nissan could look like in the future.” Nissan closes their press release with the ominous promise that they “[believe] that the real-world is ready for the NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo,” and the suggestion that we all “[w]atch this space…” It’s all in the ellipsis. The 2020 in the concept’s name seems to suggest that we could be seeing this thing in the real world sometime within the next six years, hopefully as the production version of the next-gen GT-R/GT-R hybrid.

It seems like the timing is right: this weekend’s Le Mans race had the most dynamic and unique field in race history, exciting designs are more and more becoming mandate in order for a brand to distinguish itself from its competitors, and concepts like the IDx and production models like the JUKE show that Nissan isn’t afraid to go bold in order to make a statement.

Just imagine how this Batmobile-looking beast would look tearing across the Mulsanne Straight. Will we see it next year? Hard to say for certain. Is this the GT-R Nissan will bring to Le Mans next year? The profile of that particular vehicle seems to suggest otherwise. Will we see a mass-produced version of something like Nissan’s Vision GT by 2020? Let’s hope. Jalopnik‘s Michael Ballaban may have said it best: “The future of Godzilla is MechaGodzilla, and it is amazing.”NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo
