Nissan Earns Title of ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year for 2018
Nissan earns ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year — Sustained Excellence for 2018 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Nissan has been leading the automotive industry in eco-friendly technologies, energy efficiency, and zero-emission vehicles for years, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has noticed. 2018 marks the seventh consecutive win of the EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year — Sustained Excellence Award by Nissan.
“The 2018 ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year have demonstrated real leadership, showing how American families and businesses can save energy, save money, and reduce air emissions,” said Bill Wehrum, EPA assistant administrator for Air and Radiation.
Nissan has shared its energy-saving expertise with schools in Central Mississippi and Middle Tennessee, areas where Nissan has a presence.
“Over a 12-year period, the majority of schools in Mississippi’s Rankin County Public School District now are ENERGY STAR® certified,” reports Nissan.
Nissan’s dedication to cutting energy usage by more than 30 percent in its paint process, opting for more efficient LED lighting, and empowering “employees in energy management,” are a few reasons why Nissan is worthy of the EPA’s highest honor.
“Awards like the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year let us know we are moving in the right direction with our sustainable manufacturing practices,” said Rebecca Vest, vice president, Corporate Development and Social Responsibility. “Our approach is a comprehensive one, focused on maximizing efficiency and reducing energy waste in our manufacturing facilities, all while continuing to deliver the products our customers expect.”
On April 20, Nissan will receive its official recognition in Washington D.C. from the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy.
