As we have mentioned several times, Nissan just loves partnerships, previously teaming up with groups as diverse as Enterprise, the Americana Music Association, NASA, and the UEFA Champions League.

Now, Nissan has taken its partnership library to the next level, becoming the official sponsor of 100 colleges and universities nationwide, as well as a supporter of select NCAA Championships for the next four years.

Another Nissan Partnership: Here’s what it is doing with Scoot Networks

This is a new step in Nissan’s (appropriately-called) “go big” marketing strategy, which previously included Nissan’s partnership with the Heisman Trophy Trust.

“This program gives Nissan an unmatched and unprecedented connection to college-sports fans,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America. “It allows Nissan to share amazing moments with students, alumni and fans – at every men’s and every women’s sport. Wherever fans go to follow these student-athletes, we’ll be there.”

Each sponsorship was negotiated individually, resulting in a series of agreements to cover 22 sports (both men’s and women’s) at 100 schools, not to mention thousands of athletes and millions of fans and alumni. Nissan’s support will provide scholarship funds, facility upgrades, tutoring programs, and other services, while in return the automaker will receive permanent signage in hundreds of stadiums and arenas, as well as innumerable media opportunities.

And Another One: Did you know Nissan was a partner of Habitat for Humanity?
