During the Nissan #withdad Super Bowl commercial, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO was revealed. This race car is different from the others in the LM P1 class in many ways.

Perhaps the most noticeable feature is that long nose, which houses a front-mid-mounted twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine. In fact, it’s the first front-mid-mounted engined LM P1 car to race at Le Mans in a very long time.

Another distinguishing feature is the fact that this race car is front-wheel drive.

The car will make its first appearance in an FIA World Endurance Championship race on April 12 at Silverstone, UK. It will then race at Spa in Belgium, then to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. After racing at the Nürburgring in Germany, it will race at tracks around the world.

“Our LM P1 program makes the connection between NISMO on the road and NISMO on the track, showcasing our brand DNA to a global audience,” said global head of brand, marketing & sales for NISMO, Darren Cox.

The new race car has picked up some new sponsors as well. Michelin will supply the tires that have been developed specifically for this car. The Swiss watch company TAG Heuer is also one of the new sponsors.
