Nissan Has a New Best-Selling Vehicle
The Nissan Altima, a mid-sized sedan, has been the Nissan’s bestselling vehicle since 2001. The Altima might have to give its crown to a new leader soon, though: the Nissan Rogue.
The SUV is currently being sold in two forms: the all-new Nissan Rogue and the Nissan Rogue Select, which is essentially the SUV’s previous generation still in production. Recent sales data combines both model’s sales data, and the combined force of the two Rogues has been enough to take away the Altima’s crown since September.

According to Nissan’s sales figures released for November, the Nissan Altima still has the overall sales lead for the 2015 calendar year. As of the end of November, the Nissan Altima had sold 303,936 units, outdoing the Nissan Rogue’s 260,711. That’s only a .2% gain in sales for the Altima compared to 2014, while the Nissan Rogue has seen sales grow 41.4%.
It seems surprising that the Rogue, of all the Nissan SUV models, is dominating the brand’s American sales, considering that the Nissan Murano’s updates were more dramatic and its exterior design stands out from the crowd (but not as far out as the Nissan Juke).

The Nissan Rogue is currently being built in Smyrna, Tennessee. Nissan plants in South Korea and Japan also build the SUV to help keep up with demand.
