Michael Caruso has signed a multi-year extension to remain with Nissan

Nissan Motorsport has locked in Michael Caruso with a multi-year deal that will keep him a part of the V8 Supercars Team well into the foreseeable future.

Caruso, 31, has been the top performing driver for Nissan in the 2014 V8 Supercars Championship standings, where he currently sits 12th. This season, Caruso has grabbed two top five finishes and ten top 10s in addition to taking the pole and a podium at the Australian Grand Prix in March.

“I’m very excited. It’s fantastic that I can stay along this path with Nissan,” said Caruso.

“It’s great to have my future secure, but I’ve still got this season to worry about,” he added. “I’m currently 12th and one point off 11th and I’d love to finish inside the top 10 in the championship. That is definitely achievable, but it’s not going to come easy. We have to make it happen. We are progressing really well; we have lots happening behind the scenes and we’ll just continue to do the best we can.”

2015 will mark the eighth full season in V8 Supercars for Caruso. He will continue to expand upon a career that includes one win (Hidden Valley, 2009) and five podiums.
