Nashville Soccer Club and Nissan announce a multiyear partnershipSoccer, known as football overseas, is a sport with a complicated relationship with the United States. As a nation, many of us play it when we are younger, but as we grow older interest in the sport as a spectator sport seems to drop in favor of more all-American pursuits. Of course, whenever the US plays soccer in the Olympics or the World Cup, interest spikes again. In recent years, there seems to be more sustained interest in one of the world’s most popular games, and Nissan has signed on to bring it to its home city of Nashville.

Earlier this year, Nissan announced that it would be a founding partner and a jersey sponsor of the Nashville Soccer Club. The team hasn’t even taken to the field yet and already Nissan has announced that they have turned their substantial commitment into a multiyear deal. The Nashville Soccer Club and Nissan made the announcement as they unveiled the one of the group’s two Under Armour jerseys with the Nissan name across the chest. A second jersey with Nissan’s name on it will roll out at a later date after the design is voted on by Nashville fans in an online campaign.
