“Philippe Klein will make a significant contribution to Nissan,” said Ghosn. “He brings considerable engineering and product management expertise to Nissan as well as a deep knowledge of and a long experience in the industry and in the Alliance.”

Philippe Klein began his relationship with Renault all the way back in 1981 and has held three positions at Nissan since the Renault-Nissan Alliance was formed. Klein earned degrees from the Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Pétroles et Moteurs, both of which are located in Paris.

Nissan has not yet announced who will take over for Palmer in the role of executive vice president, but more details will likely emerge by September 15, that date when Klein’s appointment begins.
