Nissan NV2500 Helps Needy Families

Hungry families in Sumner County, Tennessee, have a little bit more to be thankful for this holiday season thanks to some philanthropic fifth-graders and a Nissan NV2500. Students at Station Camp Elementary in Middle Tennessee extended a helping hand to needy families in the area this holiday season by collecting hundreds of pounds of food and opening the first school food pantry in the county.

In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and with a donated Nissan NV2500, students, volunteers and Second Harvest staff were able to transport all of the collected food in a single vehicle, making the transportation to the school pantry that much easier.

With more than 7,000 students in Station Camp Elementary’s school district going hungry and half of the public school students throughout Tennessee being eligible for free or reduced-price meal programs in schools, this new food pantry could go a long way in helping needy families. The Nissan NV2500 will be a helpful addition to the group, making it easier to transport goods in the future.
