When Nissan first unveiled the 2017 Nissan Titan, it was at the Chicago Auto Show in a weird time slot called “Nissan Coffee,” removed from the rest of the Nissan presentation. A Nissan executive stood in the bed of the truck to be seen over the crowd of reporters, and basically just said the name of the truck.

At the 2016 New York International Auto Show, the half-ton Nissan Crew Cab finally got the proper attention it deserves. While the Nissan Titan XD is a big truck great for work or outdoors enthusiasts, the Nissan Titan’s smaller size made it ideal for urban environments and weekend warriors. The 2017 Nissan Titan’s exterior has been updated to resemble the popular Nissan Titan XD, with a large chrome grille and a more dominant look overall.

According to Nissan, the Titan is 228.1 inches long, which is 14.7 inches less than the larger XD model. The crew cab was actually the model discussed at the New York Auto Show, and it will be the first one to hit dealership lots. Single and King Cabs have been announced to follow later in the year.

While the Nissan Titan was finally given a spotlight, the automaker couldn’t resist parking it next to the Nissan Titan XD to create a big truck display. Nissan also used the auto show as an opportunity to announce the 2016 Nissan Titan XD Crew Cab V8 Gas’s pricing. If you’ve been waiting for the V8 Gas, it will be priced at $35,290 MSRP when released.
