[PHOTOS] Nissan Pulsar NISMO Concept Revealed
A lot of really cool stuff happened at the Paris Motor Show. The Lamborghini Asterion, the Jaguar XE, the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta, all had a little somethin’-somethin’ to show off. Despite the beauty of these and other new models and concepts on display in Paris, the vehicle that stole our hearts was a sporty little hot hatch that looks to be perfect for hooning. We’re speaking, of course, about the Nissan Pulsar NISMO Concept.

It’s exactly what you’d expect, and it’s exactly what you’d want it to be. Take the Pulsar hatch, slap on a bigger bumper, take in the side skirts, drop the ride height, stick it on 19-inch alloys wrapped in some grippy 235/35 R19s, and give it all of those little touches of red and chrome that just scream NISMO. That’s the Nissan Pulsar NISMO Concept, and it’s damned nice.
Add to that mix that Nissan takes the Pulsar’s 1.6-liter DIG-T turbo four and cranks the horsepower up to about 250, and you’re talking about a hot hatch to end all hot hatches. Then consider that Nissan actually wants to bump horsepower up even more in order to snatch the Nürburgring FWD lap-time record from the Renault Megane RS275 Trophy-R.
This is why it was one of the best things about Paris. Of course, it loses points because—surprise—America probably won’t get one if it reaches production. Nissan is promising more details about the Nissan Pulsar NISMO Concept “in due course,” so let’s just hope that they have a change of heart and realize that yeah, Americans love hot hatches too.
