Since 2005 with a donation of 50 trucks, Nissan has been a huge supporter of Habitat for Humanity, and this year proves that partnership is going strong as Nissan donates one million dollars to the organization.

“Nissan’s mission is to enrich people’s lives, so we value our partnership with Habitat for Humanity because it helps to build sustainable communities in the areas where our employees live and work,” said Rebecca Vest, vice president of Corporate Development and Social Responsibility, Nissan. “Our employees look forward to working alongside future homeowners as they build their homes. The work is enriching for those families and for our employees as they make memories that will last a lifetime.”

In addition to the one million dollars in 2017, which brings Nissan’s contribution over the years to more than 15 million dollars, Nissan is donating two new Nissan NV high-roof cargo vans and five new Nissan Titan pickup trucks to be utilized by Habitat for Humanity.

According to Nissan, the bulk of the one million dollar donation for 2017 will be put toward “the building costs of Habitat homes in locations where Nissan has an operational presence working with local Habitats,” which are found in 13 communities across Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, California, Michigan, Mississippi, Virginia, and Ontario, Canada.

“The generous donation from Nissan and the volunteers who continue to work alongside those in need of decent housing makes such a difference in the lives of families and communities,” said Colleen Finn Ridenhour, senior vice president of Development, Habitat for Humanity International. “We are extremely grateful to have a partner like Nissan who shares our commitment to build sustainable communities.”

In addition to contributing to the building projects of Habitat for Humanity, Nissan has also been a financial supporter of the organization’s disaster response program, according to Nissan.
