Nissan Rises to Best-Selling Asian Brand in Europe

At the same time as CNBC is reporting an improvement in European car sales (which rose 8.2% in the first half of the year, and 15% in June in particular), Nissan is also reporting very good European news—thanks to record sales in the first half of 2015, Nissan is now the best-selling Asian brand in Europe.

Nissan sold a staggering 384,726 units, an increase of 4.3% over the first six months of last year. These high sales were driven by the highly popular SUV the Nissan Qashqai as well as the electric Nissan LEAF. As it stands now, Nissan holds 4.2% of the market share in Europe.

“What we are doing with our brand, our products and our customer service promise is clearly working,” said Guillaume Cartier, Nissan Europe senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. “We’re delighted customers have continued to put their trust in Nissan to make us the number one selling Asian brand in Europe. We will continue to challenge ourselves to bring more to our customers – more choice, more value and more innovative and exciting products.”
