Nissan Sales Increase 1 Percent in July as Rogue Sees Best Month Ever

Nissan Group announced total sales of 132,475 units in the United States last month, setting a new July record with a 1.2% year-over-year increase. Nissan Division sales were up 1.7% with 122,530 units delivered versus 120,439 units from July 2015, also a new record for the month of July.

Nissan Division truck, utility, and van sales were up 16.4% at a total of 57,794 units delivered. That, too, sets a new sales record for July. The Nissan Rogue achieved its single best sales month in its history with a 33% year-over-year increase and a grand total of 33,298 units delivered. Murano sales were up 15% at 6,271 units.

Both the Nissan Frontier and Titan saw year-over-year gains; sales of the Frontier shot up 72.7% with 7,244 units, and sales of the Titan increased 1.5% with 1,143 units delivered.

Through July, sales of Nissan’s trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and vans total 370,348 units, up 11.4% from the pace set in 2015. Sales of the Rogue are up 13.5% at 182,181 units, and sales of the Frontier are up 34% at 52,255 units.

Nissan Division’s total car sales were down 8.6% at 64,736 units, but both the Versa and Maxima posted impressive sales gains. Versa sales totaled 11,856 units, up 19.2% year-over-year, and Maxima sales were up 43.5% with a total of 5,990 units delivered. Sales of the Sentra were flush at 18,536 units, and sales of the 370Z were up 7.3% at 722 units.

Total car sales are up 5.5% through seven months, led by the Maxima nearly doubling its sales at 36,743 units and the Sentra gaining 13.8% at 141,550 units.
