2017 Nissan “Texas TITAN”

If there is one state in the union that knows the most about trucks, it might have to be Texas. While plenty of other states rely on trucks to get the job done right, trucks are embedded deep into the heart of Texan culture. Nissan is trying to make the Nissan Titan a contender in America’s high-stakes pickup truck market, and what better way to do that than to woo the Lone Star State? To make the courtship even more personal, Nissan has added a new package to the 2017 Nissan Titan XD and 2017 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 4×4 and 4×2 models that is sure to make any Texan proud to drive one of these trucks.

The Nissan “Texas TITAN” package was debuted at the State Fair of Texas as part of Nissan’s “Year of the Truck” celebrations. The special package focuses on the appearance of the truck, and less on the already-impressive power under the hood. Drivers will be happy to know that a Nissan truck equipped with this package will feature chrome exhaust finishers, as well as a chrome inner and outer grille finish. The vehicle will roll on 20-inch chrome aluminum-alloy wheels, and be protected by metallic-finish kick plates. To make sure all onlookers and passengers know the quality of the vehicle, it will also include special Texas TITAN exterior badging and interior floor mats.

“Titan XD was named ‘Texas Truck of the Year’ last fall by the Texas Auto Writers Association so it’s fitting to acknowledge the Lone Star State with this special vehicle,” said Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager, North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. “For native Texans like myself, the Texas TITAN is the perfect representation of Texas attitude – big horsepower, big torque, huge capabilities.”

We’ll see if this appearance package will persuade more Texans to purchase a Nissan Titan. Partnered with “America’s Best Truck Warranty” and a redesigned body, it might just do the trick.
