Tornado damage is serious business

After you purchase a new car, it’s not unusual to receive periodic calls and communication from the manufacturer. Usually, they want to ask how a new vehicle is performing, remind you of service milestones, or they will ask if you would like to extend the warranty and protect your investment.

A Nissan representative happened had the worst timing possible this week following an outbreak of tornadoes in North Texas. According to The Dallas Morning News and witness Tom Fox, Diana Allred was surveying what was left of her home when she received a call. The person on the other end of the line wanted to know if she would like to extend the warranty on her Nissan Altima.

The Nissan Altima was across the yard, on its top and completely destroyed by the storm, next to another totaled car.

Mr. Fox would like everyone to know that Ms. Allred did not take the offer.

While this story might make you chuckle, the tornadoes in North Texas are no joke. The local CBS station has partnered with the Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys to raise money for disaster relief, and donors can contribute on the Salvation Army website. The American Red Cross is also assisting those hit hardest by the storm, and donations can be made on its website.
