Nissan Wins Again for Energy Conservation
It seems as if Nissan is the company to beat when it comes to energy conservation. The latest recognition to add to the trophy case is from its home country of Japan, where Nissan has won the 2016 Energy Conservation Center, Japan Chairman’s Award.

Within the Nissan Motor Company Ltd, its Nissan Energy Saving Collaboration, or NESCO, team is responsible for conducting audits at plants to suggest changes to preserve energy and lower emissions as Nissan produces its products. So far, the NESCO team’s improvements have been credited with saving the company more than 58,000 tons in CO2 emissions around the world, with 11,000 tons of that savings being in Japan alone in 2014.
The success of the NESCO team in Japan has inspired the automaker to establish additional branches of the team in Nissan plants around the world to find even more ways to make a lighter impact on the environment. Currently there are already teams in several countries, like Mexico, China, the United States, and England. Nissan is also working with Renault to spread ideas and solutions throughout the Renault-Nissan Alliance. In the future, the next country slated to receive a NESCO team will be Thailand.
