Derrick Henry Added to the Heisman House

If you watch Nissan commercials during college sports, you know about the Heisman House, Nissan’s fantasy college fraternity for past Heisman trophy winners. 2016’s honoree, Derrick Henry, was brought into the fold yesterday at Nissan North America Headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. While the location is obviously special to the automaker, it’s also important to Henry, who was recently signed to play for the Tennessee Titans just 15 miles north of Nissan HQ at Nissan Stadium downtown.

Derrick Henry is the second Heisman winner in a row to be signed by the Tennessee Titans. 2015’s winner, Marcus Mariota, also plays for the team. As a member of the fictional Heisman House, Henry will join college football’s other famous faces in commercials for Nissan during the big games. According to Nissan, the first one will air on September 1st during sports coverage.

Nissan first partnered with the Heisman Trophy Trust six years ago. Honorees are featured in funny and short commercial vignettes, and Nissan is committed to helping the Trust support its favorite charities. Many of these charities are aimed at serving disadvantaged children.

Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America, Inc. said at the event “This campaign continues to gain legions of fans every year, and adding an Alabama powerhouse, and future Titans star, to the team will bolster that success. We also extend to Derrick a heartfelt welcome to Nashville and the Nissan family. His new TITAN XD will look right at home parked at Nissan Stadium, home of our very own Tennessee Titans.”
