Nissan’s top selling models in the U.S., the Rogue and Rogue Sport, along with the Nissan Qashqai in Canada, will be equipped with ProPilot Assist technology near the end of this year.

“ProPILOT Assist is a hands-on driver-assist system that helps drivers stay centered in their lane, navigate stop-and-go traffic and maintain a set vehicle speed and distance to the vehicle ahead,” according to Nissan.

“ProPILOT Assist is an iconic technology for Nissan Intelligent Mobility, Nissan’s vision of how vehicles are powered, driven and integrated into society,” said Philippe Klein, Nissan’s chief planning officer. “Its acceptance by consumers has been beyond expectations, and we’re pleased to expand its availability to more popular models such as Altima, X-Trail, and Rogue Sport.”

The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima will also feature the technology, which debuted on the Nissan Serena minivan in Japan in 2016. Since its debut, the driver-assist technology has been featured in the new Nissan LEAF and X-Trail, another model sold in Japan.

“Additional vehicles will adopt this technology in coming years, expanding to 20 models and 20 markets by the end of FY2022, as part of the company’s midterm plan, Nissan M.O.V.E. to 2022,” according to Nissan.

The 2018 Nissan Rogue is available at three trim levels — S, SV, and SL. Each trim is powered by a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine paired to an Xtronic CVT® with Sport Mode Shifter; the powertrain generates 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.  Available driver assist technologies include Blind Spot Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intelligent Around View® Monitor, and Lane Departure Warning and Intelligent Lane Intervention.

The 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport is also available at three trim levels — S, SV, and SL. Its 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine and Xtronic CVT® with manual shift mode work together to generate 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. The Rogue Sport SL is equipped with Intelligent Around View® Monitor, Moving Object Detection, and Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Control.
