No Charge to Charge in Atlanta

By rolling out No Charge to Charge in Atlanta, owners and lessees of 2015 LEAF vehicles will benefit from two years of free public charging

The capital city of Georgia has long been referred to as “Hotlanta” due to its sweltering summers and equally sweltering night life and club culture. Another thing that’s extremely hot in the ATL is the Nissan LEAF, and the automaker is looking to further ignite sales by announcing that it will roll out No Charge to Charge in Atlanta.

“Atlanta is America’s biggest market for LEAF, and access to free public charging can enhance the convenience of driving an electric car and motivate additional consumers to make the switch to Nissan LEAF,” said Brendan Jones, director, Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure. “As the top-selling electric car brand, Nissan is actively working with key partners to ramp up charging infrastructure in Metro Atlanta to make more charging options available for the thousands of area LEAF owners.”

Indeed, No Charge to Charge incentivizes the purchase of a new Nissan LEAF by providing two years of no-cost public charging at the dozen or so quick chargers dispersed throughout Atlanta. The deal begins today, but it retroactively applies to all new LEAF owners/lessees in Atlanta who have driven off in a LEAF since November 1st.

That Nissan made Atlanta its 13th market for No Charge to Charge is somewhat surprising, particularly given that Atlanta has been the top market for the EV since the middle of 2013.

Markets that currently offer the No Charge to Charge program include San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Nissan says that it will add at least 12 more markets to the list by the end of next year.
