Often when a preacher talks about generosity in a sermon, the result of that generous feeling goes to funding for the church and paying for any of various charities. However, one church in Pickerington, Ohio, decided that it was going to suit that “Random Act of Kindness” thing from Evan Almighty to action.

Honestly, who are we to doubt the words of Morgan Freeman?

First, they ordered a pizza—just one, and not a large order, as it only cost $5.99. When the driver, Natasha, arrived, the Rev. Steve Markle, the church’s lead pastor, called her up on stage, and asked her what the largest tip she had ever received was. She told him about $10.

He gave her $15 for the pizza, then said, “We’ve been teaching our church this last month about being generous, and so we did something special for you today. We took up a special offering for a tip for you.”

That special tip was $1,046. And, for your daily dose of heart-warming gooey-ness, they caught it all on video:

The congregation, which is made up of between 500 and 600 people each week, was just wrapping up a sermon series called “I Was Broke. Now I’m Not,” with an emphasis on random acts of kindness, when they decided to randomly help out one of the most traditionally-impoverished workers out there—the pizza delivery driver.

Good on you, Sycamore Creek Church of Pickerington, Ohio.
