Auto Test 2017 and J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study Trophies

The Opel ADAM and Opel Insignia both came away with awards in the 2017 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study for the German market, topping their respective segments in terms of customer feedback about the reliability of models that are between one and three years old.

“We place very high value on the quality of our cars delivered to our customers,” said Elvira Tölkes, Opel’s Vice President of Quality.  In addition, the J.D. Power study shows that Opel also sets high standards in terms of reliability and durability across the entire portfolio from the chic urban car Opel ADAM to the Opel Insignia. So we are delighted to have received both of these awards.”

The event at which the 2017 J.D. Power VDS winners were announced was also a joint awards ceremony for the Auto Test Winner 2017. In that competition, the Opel Ampera-e won the top prize for “Technical Innovation,” earning high marks for its NEDC-estimated 520-kilometer driving range.

“Beyond high quality, what also distinguishes Opel is that we make future technologies accessible to so many people,” said Opel Executive Director of Sales Jürgen Keller. “Good examples of this are the personal connectivity and service assistant Opel OnStar as well as the current market launch of the revolutionary electric vehicle Opel Ampera-e. Our electric car is a true range champion, without a doubt a major innovation, and thus a worthy Auto Test winner 2017.”

The new Opel Ampera-e has already won a number of significant awards, including the International Paul Pietsch Award 2017 and the ECOBEST 2016 in the 2016 AUTOBEST Awards.
