At the base level, the Opel Corsa Essentia adds a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, a powertrain combination that the brand expects to improve the Corsa’s efficiency. The Essentia starts at R 200,600; equipped with radio, Bluetooth, USB, and air conditioner, the Essentia starts at R 210,600, down R 4,000 from the previous model year.

The next trim up the ladder, the Corsa Enjoy, is offered with either the 1.0-liter three-cylinder and six-speed manual or the 1.4-liter four-cylinder mated to the six-speed automatic transmission. New at this level is IntelliLink infotainment, tire pressure monitoring system, single-piece rear bench seat, and monochrome display cluster. The manual sees a R 500 drop in price to R 234,300, and the automatic drops R 300 to R 234,800.

The Corsa Sport keeps the 1.4-liter turbo beneath the hood and adds the chrome beltline and door handle accents once utilized by the Corsa Cosmo. Updates that merge the finer aspects of the Corsa Cosmo into the Sport include Morrocana-upholstered seating and a sunroof and both the advanced park assist and side blind spot alert safety technologies. The Corsa Sport also sees a drop in price, down R 600 to a starting price of R 275,600.
