Opel Mokka Sales Reach 500,000-Unit Milestone
The Opel Mokka, the European cousin of the best-selling Buick Encore, has reached a sales milestone of its own. This week, the landmark 500,000th order for the Mokka was placed, affirming its status as the hottest subcompact SUV in Europe.
“People looking for a robust, compact SUV with a high level of functionality and best quality at affordable prices drive Opel Mokka,” said Peter Christian Küspert, Vice President Sales & Aftersales Opel Group. “The customers love the offer proposed by our popular SUV. Therefore, it leads registrations in its class regularly. Under consideration of a longer time period, the Mokka is an undisputed member of the top three registered SUVs.”
The Opel Mokka, like the Buick Encore, is offered with a number of intelligent technologies, including Opel OnStar and available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Unlike the Encore, the Mokka is offered with two diesel engine options that provide considerable power and high power outputs.
Since launching three years ago, the Opel has earned a number of awards, including two “All-wheel Drive Car of the Year” awards and one “Company Car of the Year” award. In 2015, sales of the Mokka were up 16% throughout out Europe.
