The truck used to play Optimus Prime in the new Transformers movies will be auctioned away this month

Unfortunately, this truck is unable to transform into a cool robot

Many kids played with Transformers action figures for hours and hours as they grew up and now they have a chance to own another iconic Transformers toy that’s much more suitable for an adult.

The truck used to portray Optimus Prime® from the Transformers movie franchise will be available to the highest bidder at the Barrett-Jackson auction, which takes place in Scottsdale, Arizona, from January 23rd through the 31st.

The truck does indeed run and it has a real VIN and title. The truck features a 14.6-liter L6 diesel engine, a manual transmission, and the same blue and red flames it sported in the movies. Some of vehicle’s special features include a custom grille with the Autobots insignia, as well as a custom aluminum bumper with corresponding aluminum wheels, storage boxes, and tanks. Furthermore, the truck comes with dark tinted windows and rows of glowing lights, which were used in the movie to help portray the fact that the truck drove itself and that it was actually alive.

There is a disclaimer that accompanies the posting for the truck on Barrett-Jackson’s web site, which says the vehicle is being sold “as-is,” that it is “not currently street legal,” and the truck “may not be emissions compliant in all 50 states.”

Barrett-Jackson has estimated there will be more than 300,000 event participants in the upcoming auction and 5.5 million television viewers around the world.

The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro used in the fourth Transformers movie will also be featured at the auction.
