Cadillac showed off the ‘17 XT5 crossover at the New York Auto Show before it’s released to dealerships next month

The Cadilalc XT5 attracted lots of attention at the 2016 New York Auto Show

Everything seems to be in place for the Cadillac XT5’s arrival at dealerships in April.

The new crossover made its public debut at November’s Dubai Motor Show and it was recently priced at $38,995, so before it finally hits dealerships, Cadillac decided to preview the vehicle one last time at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, but since Cadillac’s main office is in New York, the automobile presumably didn’t have to travel very far.

Fact Or Fiction: Is Cadillac producing a compact RWD sports sedan?

While other manufactures were going to extraordinary measures to promote its products, such as Lincoln who talked actor Matthew McConaughey into attending the premier of the Navigator Concept; the Cadillac brand remained quiet and allowed its new XT5 luxury crossover to speak for itself.

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 will receive power from a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated at 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. That’s the same engine that can be found in the critically acclaimed CTS sedan; it will be paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, consumers will have the choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems.

Inside the XT5, consumers will discover an updated CUE infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay compatibility and an Android Auto update will be available later in the year. The XT5 also comes with 63 cubic feet of available cargo space and while the base model comes standard with leatherette upholstery, higher trims–such as the Platinum model–feature real leather seating materials and genuine wood trim.

Another stand-out feature of this Cadillac luxury crossover is its new rear camera mirror, which displays what’s happening behind the XT5 on the rearview mirror by means of a camera mounted on the back of the vehicle.

The 2017 CT5 is replacing Cadillac’s best-selling SRX crossover and you can expect to find the new Caddy at dealerships next month.
