[PHOTOS] Euro-Spec 2016 Toyota Hilux Revealed
The Toyota Hilux is something of a legend. It’s proven that it can withstand fire, flooding, and being dropped from a building, amongst other things. And it had a 24.5% market share in Europe in 2014, with 36,000 models sold (that might not seem like many, but Europe is not the biggest market for the pickup truck). So when the all-new 2016 model was dropped (not literally), it knocked people’s socks off.

Now, Toyota has revealed the European version of the next-gen pickup truck, and it looks remarkable. In fact, it looks fairly similar to the truck designed for the Asian market, and for good reason. As far as we can see, there isn’t much difference between the two, save for the fact that one will be sold in Europe and the other will be sold in Asia Pacific markets.
The new Hilux comes with a new ladder chassis, enhanced 4×4 capabilities, improved safety, more advanced equipment, and improved towing capacity. It’s also expected to offer improved fuel efficiency numbers, although no figures have been released. New engine choices will include 2.4-liter and 2.8-liter Global Diesels, alongside the current 2.5-liter diesel and 2.7-liter petrol.
