Ford used the platform of the Geneva Motor Show to reveal two new models, a new Mondeo Vignale variant, and a concept in the expanding Ford Vignale luxury lineup. The Ford Edge Vignale will become Ford’s first European foray into the world of upscale SUVs, and the Ford S-MAX extends that same upper-crust luxury feel to the MPV segment.

Ford also introduced the Kuga Vignale Concept, which plays on the formula of the newly-revealed Kuga and suggests what it would ultimately look like with all the luxury trimmings. Ford notes that approximately 80% of all Kugas sold in 2015 were high-spec Titanium models, a figure that all but necessitates the introduction of a Kuga Vignale.

“Our customers have high aspirations, and they want more from Ford. On some vehicles, our top-of-the-line Titanium specifications make up 70% of all sales,” said Jim Farley, Chairman and CEO of Ford of Europe. “With Ford Vignale, we can offer them the absolute best of Ford in terms of luxury and personal service. That’s why we are expanding from Ford Mondeo Vignale to our flagship products Edge and S-MAX, with Kuga to come soon after.”

Further, the Mondeo Vignale, the first model to receive Ford’s luxury touch, will be offered in a five-door model. The Mondeo Vignale is currently offered as a four-door sedan and a wagon.

Ford Vignale models are distinguishable from their siblings in the application of more luxurious materials and unique color schemes on the interior and exterior, as well as access to Ford’s Vignale Service.
