[Photos] Ford Unveils Five-Door Fiesta ST for Europe
Ford has made a new five-door version of the Fiesta ST available for order in Europe, giving customers with children an additional caveat to use in their quest to convince their significant other than a performance car would be more than adequate for the purposes of shuttling the kids to school.
“Ford has now sold more than 38,000 Fiesta STs in Europe since we introduced the acclaimed hot hatchback in 2013, and growing numbers of customers have been asking us for a five-door version,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe. “The new Fiesta ST five-door makes an affordable Ford Performance driving experience accessible to an even greater number of customers.”

So what’s going to be different with the five-door Fiesta ST when compared to the Fiesta ST three-door? For starters, it will have two more doors. And that is just about it.
The Fiesta ST five-door will retain the 1.6-liter EcoBoost and its output of 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, meaning it maintains the 6.9-second 0-62 time. It still has a Ford Performance-tuned chassis and Torque Vectoring Control. It still gets the hallmark styling with 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear diffuser element, and Recaro seats. And, most importantly, it’s still a Fiesta ST. Sometimes, you don’t necessarily need all the extra bells and whistles.
Ford says that it anticipates sales of the new five-door Fiesta ST will make up about 25% of the model’s overall sales in Europe moving forward. Will it America? Probably not, but it never hurts to dream.
Earlier this year, Ford also launched the new Fiesta ST200 for Europe. The ST200 is approximately 10% more powerful and two seconds faster from 0-62.
