Ford’s next addition to its performance lineup will, indeed, be a high-powered version of the Fiesta ST.

The Ford Fiesta ST200 was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, promising 10% more power and 20% more torque than the standard Ford Fiesta ST. That shakes out to 200 PS (about 197 horsepower) and 290 Nm (213 lb-ft) of torque and a 6.7-second 0-62 mph acceleration.

The most powerful Fiesta ever built, the Fiesta ST200 will be powered by a specially-tuned 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine that will deliver a top-speed of 143 mph. The final drive ratio is shortened from 3.82 in the Fiesta ST to 4.06 in the ST200, leading to better drivability and acceleration. Steering ratio will be a crisp 13.69:1.

“The Fiesta ST is truly beloved by owners and critics. The ST200 takes this special drivers’ car to a new level of power and performance,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe. “I think it’s a future classic in the making.”

The Fiesta ST200 will also utilize Torque Vectoring Control, 3-mode Electronic Stability Control, and enhanced braking for the ultimate in control.  It will be offered with an exclusive Storm Grey exterior, 17-inch matte black machined alloy wheels, red-painted brake calipers, partial leather Charcoal Recaro front seats with silver contrast stitching.

Ford says that production of the Fiesta ST200 kicks off in June and should be delivered to customers in Europe shortly thereafter.
