As the small crossover segment continues to grow, automakers across the world are expanding and redesigning their lineups to stay at the top of the game. Infiniti will soon be joining the ranks in the luxury market by releasing a new version of the QX30—a concept model first revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show that just made its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show.

“QX30 Concept foreshadows an entry in the premium compact segment that provides a stylish alternative to the existing offerings in this segment,” explained Infiniti President and CEO Roland Krueger. “The vehicle embodies our conviction to give customers the freedom to go wherever they want, whenever they want – in a style that turns heads and makes a statement, in a way that expresses their individual character.”

The QX30 Concept combines the body style of a coupe with the capability and utility of a crossover. The vehicle sports 21-inch wheels, a satin chrome front bumper, a sculpted rear skid plate, and Connolly saddle leather seats with blue stitching. When Infiniti comes out with its production version of the QX30, it’ll likely have a range of available powertrains—both gasoline and diesel (although the likelihood of the diesel versions making it Stateside are likely slim to none).

We look forward to catching our first glimpse at whatever production model spawns from the QX30 Concept. If it looks anything like this bad boy, we will be happy campers.
