[PHOTOS] Toyota at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show: Sedans, Sedans Everywhere!

Chicago is mighty cold in February, but you’d never know that from inside McCormick Place, home of the Chicago Auto Show (CAS).  This year, we were lucky enough to attend the media preview, and got to see a great deal of incredible models first-hand. Here’s a glimpse of what Toyota brought to the table this year.

2016 Toyota Avalon

The 2016 Toyota Avalon made its debut at CAS this year. This is a mid-generation refresh for Toyota’s flagship sedan, adding improved style to a reliable and affordable premium vehicle. The 2016 Avalon has two new suspension systems—one for a more comfortable ride, and another for a more responsive driving experience. Features include a redesigned front grille, LED taillights, chrome rear bumper accent, and new gray accent stitching with a light gray interior. The 2016 Avalon should arrive at dealerships later this year.

2016 Toyota Tacoma

Originally unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit last month, the Tacoma also made an appearance in Chicago. Toyota has given the truck a more rugged appearance to make it more in line with the larger Tundra. It’s powered by either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter V6, and comes with options like Qi wireless charging, a power moonroof, leather seats, and multiple layers of noise-cancelling technology for the quietest ride ever. We should see the 2016 Tacoma hit the streets sometime this fall.

SpongeBob Squarepants Sienna

One of the more unique vehicles at this year’s CAS was the SpongeBob Squarepants Toyota Sienna. We’d seen pictures of it when it first made an appearance last November at the LA Auto Show, but seeing it in person was even better. The exterior has been designed to resemble SpongeBob when he turns into a superhero in the new movie The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. Inside, the steering wheel resembles that of a ship, and the floor is covered in sand.

2016 Camry and Corolla Special Editions

For 2016, Toyota will make a limited number of Camry and Corolla Special Editions. The two vehicles, which debuted in Chicago, are sportier versions of their namesakes, boasting new colors, sporty interior touches, and the latest technology. Toyota will make just 12,000 Camry Special Editions, and 8,000 Corolla Special Editions.
