Hennessey is already hard at work playing up the 2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged, which is based upon the all-new, next-gen 2015 Ford F-150. This does not mean, however, that it doesn’t have at least one more good trick up its sleeve with the outgoing VelociRaptor, announcing that the VelociRaptor SUV will be arriving in June.

Hennessey Performance touts the VelociRaptor 600 SUV as “the vehicle that Ford should have built but never did,” and it’s hard not to agree when you get a gander at what it does. Built upon the F-150 SVT Raptor SuperCrew and incorporating sheet metal and side glass from a Ford Excursion, this SUV is capable of seating up to 8 people and going 0-to-60 in 5.9 seconds.

Powered by a stock 6.2-liter V8—amplified considerably by Hennessey’s 2.9-liter supercharger, air-to-water intercooler, high flow air induction, and an upgraded fuel injector—the 2014 VelociRaptor 600 SUV gets a massive 623 horsepower. While HPE notes that the VelociRaptor 600 SUV is not suited to run the Rubicon or the Baja 1000, it is noted that it should prove quite useful in reasonable off-roading situations.

If you want one of these bad boys, Hennessey is open for orders now. Is it warranted to hold off on buying a 2014 model for one based on the 2017 F-150 Raptor? Stay tuned.
