Microsoft will be sponsoring the No. 88 Chevrolet SS for two races this year.

NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. will debut the Windows 10 paint scheme July 28th at Sonoma Raceway

Racecar driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. has said before how much he enjoys indulging in the newest technologies  and now he gets to put Microsoft’s logo all over his No. 88 Chevrolet SS.

“He’s a Microsoft user with Xbox and in his personal computing,” said Doug Duchardt, general manager at Hendrick Motorsports. “I know he’s excited to have them aboard.”

The Windows 10 racecar will make it’s debut on June 28th at Sonoma Raceway and it will also see action later this season when NASCAR visits Pocono on August 2nd. As part of the deal, Earnhardt Jr.  has also agreed to become a spokesperson for Windows 10 and will appear in ads for the new product, which will be released on July 29th.

Microsoft began working with NASCAR last season when it provided them with the Windows mobile inspection app, which NASCAR said cut down the time it takes to inspect cars before each race. The team Earnhardt races for, Hendrick Motorsports, will also start officially using Windows 10 PCs and Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.

Earnhardt Jr. owns 24 career victories in the Sprint Cup Series and also made headlines recently for engaging in a minor Twitter beef with NFL player Richard Sherman, as the two athletes disagreed about which sport requires more mental preparation. The son of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. has never won at Sonoma Raceway, but picked up a promising third-place finish at the road course last year.

Besides the two races featuring the new Microsoft Windows 10 paint job, Earnhardt Jr.’s usual sponsor of Nationwide Insurance will return to the No. 88 Chevy for the other races this season. You can check out Earnhradt Jr. driving the Windows 10 racecar and Arnold Schwarzenegger driving the pace car this Sunday at 3 pm on Fox Sports 1.
