Pitting the 2015 Colorado Against the Competition
We’ve been hearing a lot about the new mid-size Chevy pickup, but what happens when we examine the 2015 Colorado against the competition? (The Colorado wins, that’s what.)
Back for 2015: The Chevy Colorado
Let’s take a look at all the things the Colorado does better than its competitors, like the Toyota Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier:
- Horsepower: The 2015 Colorado delivers best-in-class horsepower at 305 hp from the 3.6-liter V6 engine. It also produces 269 lb-ft of torque. This even exceeds the power created by the 3.5-liter V6 in the 2015 Ford F-150.
- Fuel Efficiency: Despite its ferocity, the Chevy Colorado is also the most efficient truck on the market at 26 mpg.
- Trailering: The Colorado also boasts the highest available trailering rating and payload rating in its segment.

“The all-new Chevy Colorado answers the call for customers who have big lifestyle interests or work needs, but want to exercise them in a smaller, more efficient way,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “From the first spark plug to the trailer hitch, the Colorado was designed to enable truck capabilities without the sacrifices to which midsize truck customers had become accustomed.”
