Porsche 911 GT3 Engines to be Replaced
Because, yeah, they still catch fire
Almost a month ago, Porsche issued a stop sale on all Porsche 911 GT3s in dealer hands and ordered drivers to stop, well, driving them, because there was a fire in the heart of the engines that just could not be contained, much like Elsa’s creepy snow power.
Porsche has now identified the issue (with connecting rod fasteners) and must replace 785 Porsche 911 GT3 engines. According to AutoGuide, Porsche’s spokesman and avid Miley Cyrus fan, Nick Twork, it’ll take some time to rebuild the engines, but the automaker intends to complete the replacement process as quickly as possible.
In my last post on the Porsche 911 GT3 fire fiasco, I introduced you to some before and after photos of the Porsche 911 GT3 engines catching on fire. My adventurous team of photographers has now been able to procure some before and after photos of what drivers can expect their cars to look like, before and after the replacement engines.
