Porsche First Quarter Sales

Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) is reporting March sales of 3,808 units, which brings Porsche’s first quarter sales to an all-time high of 10,136. At the conclusion of Q1 2013, Porsche’s year-to-date sales totaled 9,649 on the strength of 3,486 vehicles sold in March 2013. The marked improvement is a portent of good things to come for Porsche, who is projected to sell more than 200,000 units worldwide in 2014.

According to Porsche’s press release, the Cayenne remains Porsche’s top seller in the US with 1,862 units moved in March. The mid-engine Boxter/Cayman—both of which were just announced as being in line for flat-four engines ink the near future—increased their sales from March 2013 by 40 units, and the Panamera improved to 442 units over last year’s 411 March total.

Porsche sold 887 911s in March 2014, which was down from March 2013’s 990 total. Nearly one-third of all 911s sold were of the 911 Turbo and Turbo S family. The early sales success has Porsche on pace to trump last year’s total of 42,323 units sold in the United States, and the rollout of the Macan will certainly be a contributing factor to Porsche’s continued success throughout the year.
