Pricing will start at $48,465 for Chevrolet’s highly customizable new lineup of 2019 Silverado chassis cab trucks. That MSRP includes a destination charge and will get you a 2WD Silverado 4500HD with a regular cab.

The new Silverado chassis cab lineup also includes the 5500HD model, which starts at $51,100, and the 6500HD model, which starts at $54,575. Each model is available in 2WD or 4WD with a regular or crew cab.

These work trucks are powered by a Duramax 6.6-liter diesel engine that puts out 350 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. That engine is paired with an Allison transmission that has a Power Take Off option.

Responding to demand, Chevrolet designed this lineup with one-piece frame rails and multiple frame length options so customers can easily mount custom-made bodies.

The Chevrolet Silverado chassis cab lineup features a front-hinged clamshell hood that allows for easier maintenance access

“These new Silverado chassis cabs are a great addition to our lineup because we can now offer small businesses and large fleets a truck that can be upfitted to do many jobs including construction, utility and landscape work, tow truck operations, first responder calls, and more,” said U.S. GM Fleet Vice President Ed Peper. “Chevrolet was obsessed with making these Silverado trucks easy to upfit, drive, and own.”

The new chassis cab models are easier to drive because the hood is optimized for visibility, while the overall design cuts down on noise and provides a more comfortable ride. In addition to allowing for better handling and visibility, the clamshell-style hood and 50-degree wheel cut allow for easier engine maintenance access.

The Silverado chassis cab lineup will be outfitted with Chevy’s flowtie badge as a way to improve the engine’s air intake. The lineup will also offer optional features like a 65-gallon twin-tank setup, air suspension, and connectivity technology like built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi and OnStar.

Production on the Silverado chassis cabs will start later this year.
