The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu has been completely refreshed and is currently in production to be sent to dealerships. Today, General Motors released pricing information in anticipation of its release date. The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu L, the base trim of the model, will be available starting at a suggested retail price of $22,500.

There are four trims of the 2016 Malibu, as well as a hybrid version. The Malibu LS will have a starting price of $23,995, and will come standard with Chevrolet MyLink Radio and Android Auto or Apple CarPlay compatibility, depending on your mobile device preference. Starting at $25,895 is the Malibu LT, and the Malibu Premium will start at $31,795. Both of the higher trim levels are available with a 1.5-liter Ecotec engine and 2.0-liter turbo with an eight-speed transmission.

The Hybrid 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will use a powertrain adapted from the one used in the new Chevy Volt. Pricing is not yet available for the hybrid, as it will be released early in 2016.

The Chevrolet Malibu’s pricing is competitive, as it falls between two of its biggest competitors. The 2016 Ford Fusion has a starting MSRP of $22,110 and the Toyota Camry’s base MSRP is $23,070. Once the Chevy Malibu is available for the press to drive, we’ll see how it measures up to the competition.
