Pro Surfer Damien Hobgood Takes a Ride in the Chevy Colorado Shoreline [VIDEO]
The 2017 Chevy Colorado Shoreline is a special edition pickup truck aimed precisely at California car buyers who enjoy an outdoorsy lifestyle. So who better to introduce the vehicle than FOX head surfer Damien Hobgood, a professional surfer from Satellite Beach, Florida, who is best known for once holding the highest two-wave grand final score in pro surfing by scoring 19.9 out of 20 at The Quiksilver Pro Fiji in 2004.
Chevrolet tapped Hobgood to star in a promotional video for the Colorado Shoreline entitled “From The Shore To The Mountains,” which shows off the vehicle’s unique capabilities.
Take a look:
Hobgood and his associates use the Colorado Shoreline to haul both surfboards and snowboards, beginning their day hitting the waves at Huntington Beach before hitting the slopes at Big Bear Mountain.
“The Chevy Colorado Shoreline is perfect for what we’re doing today,” Hobgood explains. “It can do really everything,”
“Definitely a cool thing to be like, ‘yeah, we were surfing and then we were snowboarding—all in one day,” the pro surfer added. “[Chevy’s] motto is ‘Find New Roads’ and is all about adventure, and that’s kind of what today was all about.”
More midsize trucks are sold in Los Angeles than the next two markets combined, which is why Chevy chose to target the LA area with the 2017 Colorado Shoreline Edition. The Shoreline package will be offered to California drivers on LT Colorado extended cab models in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.
The Colorado Shoreline is also the latest in a series of special edition Chevy pickup trucks for 2016, which so far has also included the Colorado Z71 Midnight Edition, Colorado Trail Boss, Silverado Realtree, and Silverado Special Ops.
