The Mini JCW Challenge hatchback will be available exclusively in the UK and has been priced at £32,000

Mini has recently announced it will reveal its new JCW Challenge hatchback to the public at the Goodwill Festival of Speed that kicks off June 23rd.

Underneath its hood, the Mini JCW Challenge will be powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the standard version of the JCW three-door hatchback. That engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. All together, this powertrain will produce up to 231 horsepower and a top speed of 153 mph.

The exterior of the new Mini JCW Challenge will be highlighted by enlarged air intakes, a real spoiler, and 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels that have been wrapped in high-grip Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. In addition, the JCW Challenge will be fitted with the JCW Pro Aerokit. This package adds lower front splitters, as well as a rear diffuser and rear splitters, which will compliment the JCW Pro exhaust with carbon fibre tailpipe finishers.

On the inside, this Mini features standard sports seats and a sports steering wheel. The cabin also makes use of a Dinamic/cloth carbon black finish and piano black trim. Also, on the passenger side fascia will be each vehicle’s individually-numbered special edition build number.

The engineering team in charge of developing the JCW Challenge collaborated with United Kingdom suspension supplier Nitron to optimize the NTR R1 coilover suspension used in the hatchback. This suspension can adjust in accordance to bump, rebound, and overall ride height.

Another unique feature of the JCW Challenge is the ability to switch between Sport and Track modes.

There will only be 100 Mini JCW Challenge models produced with all of them being sold in the United Kingdom. The JCW Challenge carries a starting MSRP of £32,000.
