"Project Titan"Back in January, Nissan announced “Project Titan,” which would be the automaker’s second crowdsourcing program and would ultimately lead to a customized Titan pickup truck. Nissan has moved on to the next phase of “Project Titan” and teamed up with Wounded Warrior Project® in order to give Iraq War veterans, David Guzman and Kevin McMahon, a once-in-a-lifetime outdoor adventure.

Guzman and McMahon will take a multi-day trip through Alaska in a customized 2014 Nissan Titan with outdoor journalist, Joe Byers. Byers suggested the Alaskan getaway during the 2014 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show and Conference at Las Vegas at which “Project Titan” was announced. For coming up with the winning idea, Byers will also receive a one-year lease on a 2014 Titan PRO-4X for his upcoming hunts.

Guzman and McMahon have both overcome considerable physical and emotional traumas while serving in Iraq to become inspirations to others. Guzman has earned his Associate’s degrees in culinary arts and interdisciplinary studies, and McMahon has served as a leader for the Wounded Warrior Project throughout New England.

“In addition to their physical wounds, service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder upon returning home,” said Adam Silva, chief development officer, Wounded Warrior Project, in Nissan’s press release. “We’re in the business of finding innovative ways to honor and empower these Wounded Warriors for a lifetime. Because of that, we are incredibly grateful to Nissan for providing this unique opportunity to two of these very deserving heroes.”
