All-new Nissan Altima available with ProPILOT AssistWhen Nissan first announced that it was bringing the redesigned 2019 Nissan Altima to the New York International Auto Show, the announcement was more coy than what we’re used to. There was no little peak at a fender, no photo of a shadowy outline, just a logo with the Empire State Building declaring the city’s mutual love for Nissan. With the big unveiling at NYIAS less than a week away, it seems as if Nissan can’t hold in the secrets anymore as it just announced that the upcoming sedan will be equipped with Nissan ProPILOT Assist.

Say Goodbye: Learn more about the 2018 Nissan Altima

If you haven’t heard of Nissan ProPILOT Assist, it’s part of the larger Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision for the future of automobiles. The ProPILOT Assist is considered a big part of the vision, as it is a herald for the autonomous cars that will hopefully follow. With this system engaged, a Nissan vehicle in proper conditions can assist you by monitoring your position in the lane, handle stop-and-go traffic, and set both following distance and speed on the highway.

According to Nissan, the 2019 Nissan Altima is the third vehicle in the U.S. lineup with the ProPilot Assist as an available feature. We won’t know until at least Wednesday what trims the system will be available on, and even then we might not receive complete trim information at the big reveal. We’ll be watching the press conference and we’ll let you know what we find out!
