You know the saying: everything is bigger in Texas. Did you not know that saying? Well, now you know it. In any case, among the things that are particularly bigger in Texas—and, mind you, conventional wisdom says that everything is by some measure larger—are the Ram, Jeep, and Dodge brands. This was demonstrated last month during the annual Texas Truck Rodeo, where all three saw some of its most rugged rides take home top honors.

“Once again, the Ram, Jeep, and Dodge brands from FCA US impressed our TAWA (Texas Automotive Writers Association) members with an exceptional product lineup at the Texas Truck Rodeo,” said Nic Phillips, TAWA president. “The Jeep brand continues to outshine the competition with Grand Cherokee and Wrangler winning in their respective categories yet again. Receiving the highest overall interior score, our journalists appreciated the luxurious interior of the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition, naming it the 2018 Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas. It’s no surprise members particularly enjoyed driving America’s fastest, yet practical three-row SUV, the new Dodge Durango SRT, naming it the winner of the Full-size SUV category.”

All told, Ram and Jeep nabbed three honors while the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT earned two awards, helping FCA earn the most cumulative awards of any manufacturer.

For Ram, the 2018 Ram 2500 Limited Tungsten was named the Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas, and the 2018 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Southfork earned both Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas and the highest overall interior score. The latter of the two was revealed earlier this year, appropriately enough, at the State Fair of Texas.

For Jeep, a trio of vehicles earned tops in their respective segments: the 2017 Jeep Renegade picked up Subcompact SUV of Texas, 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk took home Mid-size SUV of Texas, and 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon was named Off-road SUV of Texas.

For Dodge, the high-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT won Full-size SUV of Texas and earned the highest overall score for performance.

Ram. Jeep. Dodge. All bigger in Texas. Fact.
