For many families across the country, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has become something of a time-honored tradition. Before settling down for a Thanksgiving feast, an average of 50 million Americans turn on their television set to tune into this Thanksgiving celebration, held in New York City every year.

While these viewers admire the inflated visages of Snoopy and Pikachu floating through the air, they might miss a fleet of vehicles passing by that make the entire parade possible. For the third year in a row, those vehicles belonged to the Ram family.

Indeed, Ram was once again named the Official Truck of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for 2017.

Ram had to work hard to earn such a prestigious title. That includes sending a fleet of nearly 70 Ram-branded trucks and commercial brands to the event.

The pickups, ranging from the Ram 1500 to the Ram 3500, hauled the 26 floats that were included in this year’s parade. Meanwhile, several of Ram’s commercial vans were utilized for behind-the-scenes endeavors.

“Ram continues to take great pride in aligning our brand with an iconic American event like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” stated Mike Manley, Head of the Ram Brand for FCA-Global. “Being the official truck of the parade provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the towing capability, style and innovation.”

The parade floats themselves are pretty impressive feats of engineering as well. Worked on by a team of carpenters, designers, animators, electricians, and painters, many of these floats can measure three stories tall and several lanes wide.

With such large and elaborate displays to haul, the team behind the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has placed its trust with an automotive brand known for tackling such challenges: Ram.
