The Ram Texas Ranger Concept was unveiled at the 2015 Dallas Auto Show
Earlier this week, Ram pulled back the sheets on its latest work of art: the Ram Texas Ranger Concept. The concept truck debuted at the 2015 Dallas Auto Show and marks the automaker’s partnership with both the law-enforcement agency and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, which was announced at the 2014 State Fair of Texas. This is not to be confused with Hyundai’s sponsorship of the Texas Rangers baseball team.
Up close and personal with the exterior badging
On the outside, the Ram Texas Ranger wears badging specific to the concept; this badging is meant to indicate the Mexican five-peso coins that are used to tool Ranger badges. The concept sits on polished-aluminum 20-inch wheels, all four of which get milled-aluminum Texas Ranger center caps. The paintjob, of course, includes Bright White and Bright Silver Metallic to denote the white hats and silver badges worn by Texas’ finest.
Step inside the Ram Texas Ranger Concept to find a number of other Ranger design cues, including four real Mexican five-peso silver coins that have been inlaid within the door bolsters’ wooden portions. In fact, Texas Ranger badging is worked into just about everything on the interior to really drive the point home. The interior also features etched Canyon Brown and Tan leather and other details borrowed from the Laramie Longhorn pickup.
We weren’t kidding about the interior badging…
“The Ram team developed this commemorative concept truck in order to further highlight our relationship with the Texas Rangers and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum,” said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO of Ram Truck, while presenting the concept at the auto show. “Although Rangers are well-known horsemen, today Texans drive more pickups than drivers in any other state in the country.”
